We've dated these highly decorative cufflinks to around the 1950's as the toggle with the flat underside and rounded top was pateneted in the early 1950's. However the decorative relief itself could almost be a nod to the deco style of the 1930's. The elongated octagonal shape holds a central domed strip of transluscent white resin giving a feel of mother of pearl. What's unusal about this pair is that the intricate decoration of the face of the cufflink extends on to the toggle itself. Cufflinks where the toggle has been highly decorated are more sought after. The face of the cuflfinks are 15x16mm and are gold plated on a base metal.
